As women and even more so as mothers we tend to gravitate towards other like-minded, beautiful souled and ever so inspiring women and mothers to form our villages and friendship circles. We count our blessing here on the Far North Coast for the abundance of these kind of women, strong, capable and gorgeous inside and out! Mother of two Vanessa Prosser is one of these incredible women that we at Chasing Unicorns adore. Her story is one of young motherhood, the ocean and a motivation to embrace a healthy lifestyle in every sense of the term, and through chronicling this lifestyle, she has amassed a considerable following on instagram (@vanessa_prosser). We caught up with Vanessa and her littlies for a beach romp and chat so that we can share some of her honest, infectious and inspiring spirit with you.
A golden Beach Mamma who loves family and Community.
My day to day life is just embracing and going deep into this season of motherhood knowing full well it won't last forever and one day they will be all grow up. Most days involve beach sessions, smoothies, acai bowls, hangs in the van, painting, hangs with our community of people we have around us, early mornings and early nights. Taking in the good and the bad, the slow and the simple.
Getting up really early and all piling into the yellow VW. Smoothies, acai bowls, and endless food setting up by the ocean with a salty breeze, naps, book reading and a glass of wine.
For me it was a complete 180, life was steered into the opposite direction. I feel like I can't even put into words how it's shaped my journey. All I'm going to say is that it was the best goddam thing to have ever happened.
Well, don't you worry I still throw back the margaritas! Although, definitely nowhere near as much as I used to before kids. I mean sure, it crossed my mind ALOT when I had Bambi, its not fun and freedom I feel like I've missed out on because fun is a bloody anthem in my life and freedom... man being a full-time stay at home mum has more freedom than I could have dreamed of, especially at this age. But having no responsibility except for myself is something I would have liked to enjoy more!!
Jordan Peterson puts it nice and simple; "Babies provide young people with maturity, purpose, and responsibility and no one grows up until they have kids because until you have kids you are the most important person in your life" That's how motherhood has changed me with maturity, purpose, and responsibility. In all the best ways possible!
Love people, Love God, encouraging my children to live in truth.
My kids at the moment, I only want to wear comfy clothes!! Anything that's simple and easy.
As simple as I could put it, I just have a deep conviction for being a good role model for my kids and building great habits for my family. This is the main thing that's always steered me to constantly being educated and has motivated me to always evolve in that area in my life.

Sean and I look at eating healthy as an investment, a way to enjoy life, fuel our bodies and to be the best possible versions of ourselves as parents. Better eating patterns organically lead to better life choices. It's a win-win!
Read a book or go for an ocean swim.
With my family, because to me, those moments are the most beautiful in the world.
